Mark was a new therapist in town, known for helping troubled children. But nothing prepared him for the boy who sat quietly in his office, eyes downcast, as if carrying the weight of the world.

Evanās mother, exhausted and scared, describes her sonās troubling visions. Her voice quivers as she shares how Evan claims to see things that arenāt there.
Mark tries to engage Evan in conversation, but the boy remains silent, his dark eyes hollow and distant. The roomās temperature seems to drop.
As days pass, strange occurrences start to happen. Shadows in the room subtly shift, and Mark begins to feel an eerie presence behind him.

Late one night, as Mark reviews his notes, he hears a faint whisper. He turns quickly, but finds only an empty room, cloaked in darkness.

The whispering continues over the next few days, growing louder but remaining just out of earshot. Mark grows increasingly unsettled, especially when he notices Evanās intense gaze.

Finally, Evan breaks his silence. āTheyāre here,ā he whispers, staring just past Mark. The roomās atmosphere darkens, heavy with an unseen presence.

Mark turns around, expecting to see something, but the room is empty. Yet, the cold, oppressive feeling remains, as if unseen eyes are watching.
Evan continues speaking, his voice barely above a whisper. āThey want to be seen,ā he says, and the shadows in the room begin to take shape.
Mark felt a chill run down his spine. The air in the room thickened, and shadows gathered in the corners, slowly creeping towards him.

The lights flickered, and for a brief moment, Mark saw them – pale, ghostly figures, their eyes empty, their mouths moving as if in silent screams.

Mark is frozen in terror as the figures close in on him. The room is nearly engulfed in darkness, with only the ghostly shapes visible, reaching out toward him.

Evan watches the scene unfold, his expression disturbingly calm. The ghosts are now fully formed, their sorrowful eyes fixed on Mark.

The temperature in the room drops dramatically as the ghosts touch Mark. His breath is visible in the freezing air, and the ghostsā hollow eyes are now inches from his face.

Evan whispers one last time, his voice blending with the ghostsā silent cries. āTheyāll never leave you now,ā he says, as the room darkens completely.
Markās scream is muted as the ghosts drag him into the darkness. The room is almost completely black, with only the faint outline of ghostly hands pulling him away.

The room is now empty, shrouded in darkness, with only the faintest outline of a ghostly figure where Mark once stood. Evanās whisper lingers in the air, chilling the scene.

Evan sits quietly in the dim office, seemingly at peace. The oppressive shadows that once surrounded him have disappeared, leaving an empty void where Mark once stood.
As Mark is pulled into the shadows, he catches a fleeting glimpse of the room from the corner of his eye. But something in the reflection of the window stops him cold – itās not his own face staring back, but the pale, ghostly visage of a child.

A rush of memories floods back to Mark. Blinding lights, the sound of screeching tires, a crash and then⦠nothing. The horrifying truth dawns on him. How could he forget?

The shadows begin to fade, and Mark feels a strange sense of calm washing over him. He looks at Evan, who smiles faintly. āYouāre home now,ā Evan whispers, as the last of the ghosts disappear into the darkness. With them does Mark – he understands now.
